Aged Care Funding

Remaining in your own home and being cared for in the way that you, or your loved ones, want is essential to maintaining quality of life.

About funding for Home Care Packages

Government-funded Aged Care is available to support you, or your loved ones, as they age.

A Home Care Package is one of the ways you can access this care. They offer more support and funding than the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and aim to support you to live independently at home for longer.

There are several levels of funding, which are outlined below.

Funding Level 1
Basic level care needs
$10,271/year
Funding Level 2
Low-level care needs
$18,063/year
Funding Level 3
Intermediate care needs
$39,310/year
Funding Level 4
Higher-level care needs
$59,593/year

Eligibility and applying for an assessment

Before Carer’s Network can help you access government-subsidised in-home care, you’ll need to check your eligibility and apply via My Aged Care.

Once you have determined your eligibility and what supports you are able to access, Carer’s Network can assist with the coordination and implementation of your support.

However, we are able to provide you with privately funded care while you wait for your HCP to be allocated.

The difference between CHSP and HCP

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) is a government-funded entry level home support program that helps older people live independently in their home and communities.

Home Care Packages (HCP) offer higher levels of assistance than the CHSP and are for people who need greater of more complex care.

We understand that navigating the Aged Care system can be challenging. If you need assistance, our team is ready to help.
